How it works

Most projects will go through the following 10-step process. Timelines will vary based on your needs but in general I will create your website using this method. I find this gets the quickest and most accurate results and also helps you know what to expect as we move along. Your customized timeline will be finalized and provided to you prior to any payment being required.

The Process

step 1

Black and white outline of an envelope

Fill out the contact form or email me directly and I’ll send you an initial questionnaire to get more details about what you’re looking for.

step 2

Simple organizational flowchart with boxes connected by lines and circles, indicating a process or hierarchy, ending with an arrow.

When you’ve emailed back the questionnaire, I’ll send you a timeline showing when you can expect each step to be completed. I’ll also send out a copy and imagery request to you. Unless otherwise discussed the copy and images for each page will be due approximately 1 week later.

step 3

Black and white pencil on paper.

Once you deliver the content for the website to me, I’ll send you a contract and your first invoice for a 50% down payment.

step 4

Black and white icon of a desktop and mobile device.

After your first payment is made, I’ll begin to design and build your website. You’ll receive a test link to review once completed.

step 5

Icon of a computer screen with a pencil symbolizing content creation or editing.

Next you’ll send back any feedback you have after reviewing the test link. This would be considered your first round of revisions. Up to two rounds of revisions are included automatically in all packages I offer.

step 6

Black and white icon representing a financial contract.

Now that I’ve made all your requested changes and you’ve approved the website. I’ll send you a final invoice for the remaining 50% of the total cost.

step 7

Laptop icon with screen displaying a checkmark symbol

As soon as final payment is made you’ll receive and email granting you access to your website as well as instructions on how to purchase your annual or monthly hosting package (starting from $23 per month) and domain (starting from $20 per year).

step 8

A black and white icon of an open book with lines on the left page and an information symbol on the right page.

After you’ve purchased your hosting subscription, I’ll do one final review to make sure your website has launched correctly. You’ll also receive instructions if you would like to set up Google Analytics and Google Search Console (recommended).

step 9

Black and white line drawing of a party popper with confetti.

Enjoy you’re new website!
